
Your company and admin settings
Overview
Access your Front company settings by clicking the gear icon at the top right corner of Front, which will take you to Company settings. You will see the company and team settings that you have access to, depending on your admin or role permissions.
The list of features in this article include all available features in Front, though you may see differences depending on your plan and role. Continue reading for an overview of what you'll find in each section.
You can also click over to the Personal tab of the settings to view and edit your own individual settings.
Search your settings
You can search for any setting, teammate, inbox, tag, and more using the search bar at the top of the page. For instance, you can search the word product and all items related to this word that you have access to will show as results.
Settings sections
The sections within your company settings are listed on the left side and allow you to manage the features for your team in Front.
Admin home
The Admin homepage allows admins to get a quick overview of inboxes, rules, and recently invited teammates. You will also find educational resources linked here.
Developers features
All apps
Add or create custom plugins to connect tools you use with Front.
API tokens
Create API tokens to manage custom workflows with Front.
Company features
Teams
If your plan has the Teams feature, you will be able to manage your teams here.
Teammates
Invite new teammates and manage their settings, create teammate templates, set up user provisioning, and download teammate activity exports.
Teammate groups
Create and edit teammate groups to easily manage lists of users for your rules.
Rules
Create and edit company rules and team rules to automate your workflows.
Custom Fields
Create and manage custom fields for your contacts, accounts, teammates, and inboxes.
Imports
Import your message history from Office 365, Help Scout, Zendesk, or Freshdesk.
App store
Use the Front App Store to search for and enable your favorite tools to use with Front. See the full list of integrations here.
Preferences
These are company-level preferences that impact your overall Front account setup, including when conversations bump in shared inboxes, SSO setup, and additional contact preferences such as when to automatically create contacts.
Billing
Change your Front plan, manage add-ons, edit your payment details, and see your invoices.
Deliverability
This is an important setting to configure if you are using Front with SMTP email channels, so that Front has optimal deliverability. See here for setup instructions.
Team features
If you do not have the Teams feature, all the settings will be contained under the Company section.
Teammates
The Teammates subsection under the Team section will allow Team Admins to invite and edit user settings for this specific team. If you don't have the Teams feature, this will appear under the Company section.
Inboxes
Manage your team's shared inboxes and empty inboxes, who has access, and the channels within each inbox.
Rules
These rules are specific to the Team you are clicked into. If you don't have the Teams feature, this subsection will appear under the Company section.
Message templates
Team message templates allow you to create templates that can be used by everyone on the team to increase productivity.
Signatures
Create and manage team signatures and use dynamic variables to customize them based on the teammate using them.
Views
Use Views to create a custom-filtered view at a set of conversations you'd like your team to see.
Tags
Your team tags can be used by everyone on the team and can be included into rules to automate many of your workflows.
Roles & Permissions
Front has two default roles, Team Member and Team Admin; and you can create additional custom roles with specific permissions as well (available for Scale plans).
Shifts
Create and manage Shifts for your teammates to automate their availability during their work time so that conversations don't get assigned to them when they are not working.
Pricing
Teams, Teammate groups, Shifts, company rules, and custom user permission roles are available on the Scale plan. Some legacy plans with different names may also have these features.
