Internal AI Answers in Front Knowledge Base [open beta]
Overview
Use the AI search bar in Front’s Knowledge Base sidebar plugin to access answers from your knowledge base. After you submit a question, AI will surface an answer from a relevant knowledge base article and provide a link to the source.
The benefits of using internal AI Answers include:
Accelerating your response times with quick answers from your knowledge base
Improving response quality by quickly validating details from your knowledge base
Prerequisites
To participate in the beta:
Enable the Internal AI Answers setting via the AI tab in company settings.
You must have a Front Knowledge Base that is published in English or French. Both internal and external knowledge bases are supported.
Instructions
Step 1
In your inbox view, click the Knowledge Base plugin in your sidebar panel.
Step 2
Use the dropdown at the top to select the knowledge base you’d like to search.
Step 3
Type in a question for AI to answer using the search bar located at the bottom of the plugin. For the best results, use natural language questions like “What is an inbox?”.
Step 4
If AI can find content that answers your question, AI will respond and provide a link to the article used to generate the response.
From this pop-up, you can:
Copy the answer AI provided to your clipboard
Copy the article link to your clipboard
Open and view the full article in the plugin
Use the thumbs up/down to provide feedback
Step 5
If AI can’t find an answer to your question, you’ll be prompted to rephrase your question or select another knowledge base.

How should I format my questions?
For the best results, use natural language questions like “What is an inbox?”.
Are there rate limits?
Yes. Each teammate account has a limit of 200 requests per day. This limit is separate from Front’s other AI features. See here to review other rate limits.
How do I share feedback?
Check our ideas portal here to see if your idea or feedback already exists.
If it exists, you can upvote and/or comment on the idea to add additional details or describe the importance to your team’s workflows.
If it doesn't exist, you can submit a new idea by clicking Add a new idea and share details about your idea and/or the problem you're having.
Doing any of those actions will ensure your feedback is reviewed by our Product team. This will also subscribe you to any updates and progress made on those ideas.

Pricing
This feature is available for beta on the latest Growth plan or above until we reach capacity. It will be free to use through the end of 2024, but may be moved into a paid add-on in the future.
