How to enable and use the Dialpad integration

Dialpad’s integration with Front provides an in-app phone, so you can make and receive phone calls and handle texts without leaving Front. In combination with your Dialpad inbox, you can manage all your call activity in one place in Front.

To get even more out of Dialpad, connect a channel to track call activity or connect a Dialpad SMS channel to send and receive text messages. See the articles below to learn how:

How it works

The Dialpad integration adds an in-app phone directly to Front, allowing you to:

  • Accept and make phone calls directly in Front

  • Receive desktop and in-app notifications for incoming calls, directly in Front

  • Make outbound calls directly in Front using your Front contacts

  • Send and receive SMS messages

  • Set your Dialpad ‘Do Not Disturb’ status

Step 1

Click the gear icon on the top right of Front and into the Company settings tab, and select App store from the left menu.

Step 2

Search for Dialpad in the list of integrations. Click See details, then click Enable app to enable the in-app dialer.

Step 3

Click Start using this app to navigate to the app switcher in your sidebar.

Step 4

Click the Dialpad icon and log in with your Dialpad login credentials. Once logged in, you can:

  • Make or receive calls and send or receive SMS texts through your Dialpad number

  • View missed calls and call/SMS history with a specific Dialpad contact

For any questions or troubleshooting help with the side panel dialer, please reach out to Dialpad directly at

Step 5

If you have not already, be sure to set up your Dialpad inbox to monitor all call activity and voicemails right from Front.

Enabling desktop notifications

To receive desktop notifications for incoming calls, ensure you have notification settings enabled for the Front desktop app and/or your browser. This can be done in your computer’s system settings.

Chrome limitations

Chrome will not play a ringtone for incoming calls unless you interact with the plugin first. However, you’ll still see notifications in the app and on your desktop.

This feature is available on the Growth plan or above. Some legacy plans may also have this feature.
