Overview

Use Front’s Zoom meeting integration to connect to Front Calendar and easily schedule Zoom meetings, directly inside Front.

With Front’s Zoom meeting integration, you can:

  • Use Zoom with scheduling links

  • Add Zoom meetings to Front calendar events

  • Create Zoom meetings from Front’s comment composer

Instructions

Admin setup

A company admin will need to first enable the Zoom integration for the entire company.

Step 1

Click the gear icon, navigate to the Company settings tab, then select App store. Search for Zoom and click See details.

Step 2

Select Zoom from the list of integrations, then click Enable app. All users can now connect their Zoom accounts to Front.

Connecting an account for Zoom meetings

Step 1

Open Front Calendar by selecting the calendar icon from the plugin sidebar. If you haven't already, sign into your calendar with your Google or Office 365 account.

Step 2

Create a new event. From the conference field, select Zoom Conference from the dropdown menu. You should be prompted to log in with your Zoom credentials.

Step 3

Follow the prompts in Zoom to connect your desired Zoom account to Front.

Step 4

Refresh Front. You can now create Zoom meetings in your calendar, in scheduling links, and in Front’s comment composer.

Using the integration

Once a Front admin has enabled the integration, users can generate Zoom links in Front’s scheduling links, calendar events, and comment composer.

Scheduling links

When setting up scheduling links, you can set the Video conferencing option to Zoom to automatically generate Zoom links for your meetings.

See this article to learn more about scheduling links.

Calendar events

When creating calendar events, you can add Zoom meetings to your events in the Video conferencing field. This will automatically add Zoom meeting information to the Location and Description fields of the event.

See this article to learn more about Front Calendar.

Comments

You can create a Zoom meeting link directly from the comment composer in your discussions or conversations in Front, and your teammates can join the meeting with you immediately from there.

FAQ

Why isn't my Zoom working in scheduling links?

Chances are that you haven't authenticated Zoom in Front Calendar yet. You must complete the Zoom meeting setup steps before Zoom will be usable in your scheduling links. You will not be able to authenticate your Zoom account directly from the scheduling links screen.

What permissions does the Zoom meeting integration require?

We leverage an OAuth connection to each user's Zoom profile. The scope of the permissions Front utilizes is limited to "view and manage current user's meetings" and "view current user's information". For more details on the OAuth scopes we leverage in Zoom head to their help page here.

Does each user need to grant permission to Zoom?

Yes. Once the Zoom meeting integration is enabled by a company admin, each user will need to follow the Zoom meeting setup steps above.

Can I use the same Zoom account with multiple Front teammates?

No. Zoom does not support account sharing. Each teammate must connect their own Zoom account to Front. If teammate B logs in with teammate A's Zoom credentials, teammate A will be disconnected from the Zoom integration.

Can I use Zoom passcodes with Front?

Yes. If your team uses Zoom's passcode for team meetings, we recommend that your Zoom admin enables and locks the account-level setting to "Require a password when scheduling new meetings". This can help ensure that the passcode is applied in your Zoom links.
