Create or edit shared signatures
Overview
Admins can create shared signatures for all teammates on their team to use for email channels. However, individual signatures take precedence over shared signatures for any channel. If you prefer to have the shared signature for a specific channel, then configure your individual signature to not apply to that channel.
If you only have a shared signature, and it's available in all channels, Front will default to your shared signature in individual and shared channels. Note: Signatures are only for email channels and not chat, SMS, Twitter, etc.
Instructions
Step 1
Click the gear icon on the top right of Front and into the Company settings tab, and select Signatures.
Step 2
Click Add a signature to create a new signature, or select a signature from your list that you'd like to edit.
Step 3
Fill out the fields:
- Name: The name will not appear anywhere on the recipient's end.
- Sender Info: This is where you set what will appear in the header of emails you send.
- Channel access: Select which channels have access to this signature.
- Text box: Create the signature itself. You can customize the formatting of your signature, add images, use HTML, add a CSAT survey, and more.
Variables can be used in both the Sender info field and within the signature body. For instance, you can use variables so that each teammate will use/see their own name. Check out this article to see the list of variables supported in signatures.
Step 4
Click Save.

I am an adm person, but I don't have the option you show in step 1. I only have My signatures and the individual sigs under teams. I must be missing something. Help me Obi Wan Kenobi... LOL.

Mary Anne Polson Have you refreshed your app in the past 48 hours?
-
Cori Morris Yes, I have, a number of times.
-
Mary Anne Polson Are you using a Mac or PC? Feel free to email us as well. It which might be easier to dig in to your specific case that way.
-
Cori Morris HI Cori...I am using a PC. Can I communicate with you directly?

PC.

Andrew Bridges Yes, we agree. That enhancement is on our roadmap.

Is there a way to restrict personal signatures from being used in certain team inboxes? Like is there any way at all the make the team signature the default for specific inboxes/channels?
Also is adding in title variables an option? -
Hi Allie Huang ! Yes, you can set a default team signature, as well as restrict your private signatures, both are shown in this article: https://help.frontapp.com/t/632vdm/how-to-set-a-default-signature-for-a-channel
We don't have title (or custom fields) available as a variable, but I've added this feature request!
-
Ah thanks. But it looks like the restriction of personal sigs is from the end-user level, not admin so it would be nice to just be able to make the team signature the default signature in all team inboxes, without fully revoking their ability to use personal ones.
The settings as shown above seem to only allow the availability of use in channels, but not necessarily to make any signature the default that overrides personal signatures. -
Allie Huang That's correct, the teammates themselves would need to restrict their private channels to specific ones. An yes, technically, the settings is to edit the availability of channels, though if you sent it to be available to only one channel, it will become the default, by default :) That said, any private signatures open to the channel will still take priority.

More variables would be great. Title and phone is needed for the team signature function to be useful. We can't really use the team signatures without these variables...
-
Cori Morris How would I add a phone number for Teammates? Can there be a feature request for this?
-
Cori Morris Please add a field for phone number as well. It is very much required for signatures.

We apply disclaimers to our outgoing emails via the signature block on our normal O365 environment. The disclaimer would normally include the time and date that the email is sent but there doesn't seem to be a variable in Front that I can use for this. Maybe there is a better way to do this in Front?
Also we would want to make sure email signatures are standard and applied by default so it would be good to have them apply on the first response message but not necessarily all following messages perhaps using a watermark to determine whether the signature should be applied or not?
-
james. young Hi there! Front doesn't have a variable for time/date, however, when a recipient receives an email, it should have a timestamp on the email so they can see when it was received.
By default, if you have a signature enabled, it will automatically appear on all outbound messages. Front lacks the ability for you to say "only use signature on first reply". This can be done manually, however. You could, by default, not input a signature, and before sending select one to be put in to the message.
