How to set a default signature for a channel

Edited

Overview

You may have several signatures set up, and if you'd like to use different default signatures for different email addresses, you can set different default signatures for each channel. The default signature will then populate any time you compose a new message or reply from that channel.

As Sender info is linked to signatures, the steps below will also allow you to set different default display names when sending from different channels.

Instructions

Prerequisites

  • Personal signatures: You must have at least one personal signature created.

  • Shared signatures: You must have Front permissions to edit shared signature settings and have at least one shared signature created.

Step 1

Click the gear icon, then navigate to workspace or personal settings tab, depending on which space you are working with.

Step 2

Select Channels from the left menu, then navigate to the channel you'd like to edit.

Step 3

Click the Settings tab, then navigate to the Default signature setting. Select the signature you'd like to use as the default when sending from this channel.

Step 4

Click Save. The selected signature will now be used as default when composing or replying to messages from that channel. You can switch the signature in the composer at any time.

FAQ

Why is my signature missing from the Default signature setting?

The channel must be included in the Channel access signature setting to display in the Default signature channel setting.

Can I select a shared signature as the default for an individual channel?

No. In the Default signature setting, you can only select personal signatures for individual channels, and shared signatures for shared channels.

What if I don't select a default signature?

If you only have a shared signature, and it's available in all channels, Front will default to your shared signature in individual and shared channels. If you also have personal signature, it will take precedence over shared signatures for any channels included in the personal signature's settings.
