How to merge contacts
You might sometimes find that you have mulitple records saved for the same contact, such as a record being saved for their email address and another for their phone number. In these cases, you can merge multiple contact records into a single record in two ways:
- In the conversation view
- In the Contact Manager
In the conversation view
When you are viewing a conversation, open to the Contact details plugin from the right integrations switcher.
On the top right of the Contact Details panel, click on the Merge with another contact button.
In the search bar, type in the name of the other contact you want to merge with, and click on the correct result.
You will see a preview of the merged contact with all the information together. There will be an info box at the top and the preview below. Click Merge on the bottom right to confirm the merge.
Once merged, you will see the updated contact record in the Contact Details panel.
In the Contact Manager
Open the Contact Manager by clicking the 3 dots on the bottom left of the Front interface and clicking on Contacts.
Identify the contacts which need to be merged by scrolling through or running a search. Bulk select the contacts by pressing COMMAND + clicking on the contacts.
Click the "..." that appears on the top right after you multi-select the contacts. Select Merge contacts.
Confirm on the popup screen that appears by clicking Merge, and the contacts you selected will be merged into a single contact.
