Troubleshooting: my scheduling link doesn't show the slots I expect it to
Overview
In this guide, we walk through how to troubleshoot a scheduling link that isn't showing the time slots you expect it you. There are a few common reasons why that might be happening.
Double booking calendars
By default, a new scheduling link's Prevent double booking setting is set to your primary calendar. This means that Front will hide time slots that conflict with events on your primary calendar to prevent you from getting double booked. As a result, the time slots shown to meeting requestors often do not include all of the availability that you've marked for the link.
Other details to keep in mind:
Time slots are not hidden for events that you've RSVPed Not Attending to.
Time slots are not hidden for events that you’re marked yourself as Free for.
If you have an all-day event on your calendar that you're marked as Busy for, Front will hide all time slots on that day.
You can edit your scheduling links at any time to modify the Prevent double booking calendars.
Availability type
The type of availability you’ve set for your scheduling link impact the times that appear.
With Recurring availability, you mark your weekly availability once, and then that availability repeats week-to-week. So if you add Monday 1:00pm-4:00pm , your scheduling link will allow visitors to book time slots for every Monday between 1:00pm-4:00pm.
With Standard availability, you mark your meeting availability by dragging specific times on your calendar, like September 21st from 1pm-4:00pm. As a result, if you pick a few non-recurring times over the coming week and view the link 2 weeks later, you'll see that all of the time slots are outdated and that you have to add new availability to the link.
Meeting buffer
The Meeting Buffer setting allows you to add padding between meetings to prevent back-to-back calendar events. This causes time slots to be hidden when you might expect them to be available.
For example, imagine that you've added a meeting buffer of 10 minutes and are available from 10:00 to 11:00 for a 30 minute meeting. Your booking page will initially show the following time slot options:
10:00-10:30
10:15-10:45
10:30-11:00
If someone books the 10:00-10:30 slot, the 10:15-10:45 slot will be hidden because it conflicts with that meeting. But Front will also hide the 10:30-11:00 slot because of the Meeting Buffer of 10 minutes.
Advance notice
The Advance notice setting allows you to prevent meetings from getting booked last minute. This ensures that you always have some amount of time to prepare for a meeting after it’s booked. If you set Advance notice setting to 1 day, keep in mind that time slots that are within the next 24 hours will be hidden from viewers of your scheduling link, even if your calendar is free during those times.
Advanced booking
Your participant can select a date and time up to 2 months in the future from the current date. Users cannot book time slots more than 2 months in advance.
